It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Oxford as the Alderman of Ward 2. After much prayer and consultation with my family, community leaders and friends, I announce my candidacy for Mayor of the fastest growing community in the State of Mississippi.
Oxford is at a critical juncture, and we need a leader who will be proactive in planning for the future. Our town is recognized as one of the best places to live in America, which brings with it tremendous growth. We all want to preserve what we treasure about our town – not only the architecture, but the sense of community. In order to do that we need a Mayor with vision for Oxford’s future who has experience working in these areas. It is necessary that our next Mayor have the ability to creatively solve problems, and work as a consensus builder with county, university and state officials. I have done this during my time as an Alderman, and if given the opportunity to serve Oxford as Mayor, I will use this experience to manage our community’s growth in a manner that is beneficial for all of us.
I have spent many years serving Oxford as a city employee, small business owner, volunteer, and elected official, and I have demonstrated my ability to serve effectively and fairly. As an Alderman, I have worked hard to bring an honest, transparent and forthright approach to Oxford’s government, and I have been open about where I stand on the issues facing our community. I have worked to strengthen our neighborhoods, provide excellent services to our citizens, support small business, and enhance the quality of life for everyone who calls Oxford home.
I look forward to visiting with old friends and moving Oxford in a positive direction.
On June 6th, I would appreciate your vote for Mayor of Oxford.
Running for your family and mine,
